New software improves SQL Server performance
and facilitates database maintenance

Db Maint is a newly developed administration program which maintains and preserves Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 installations and thereby minimizes the risks of losing vital data. Db Maint also significantly improves SQL Server performance.

Db Maint 1.5 contains several functions which significantly facilitates administration of MS SQL Server 6.5 and improves its performance, e.g.:

analyses and documentation of the SQL Server installation, including databases.

reorganization and consistency control of databases.

advanced logging and presentation of SQL Server utilization rate and statistics.

automatic inclusion of databases created after initial setup of maintenance routines.

extensible architecture; stored procedures can be included in maintenance plans with full logging.

supports centralized logging; i.e. sending logs to one "master server" for simplified administration in multi-server environments.

backup: Db Maint automatically creates backup copies of databases (which SQL Server does not do with automation).

continuous reports of the conditions of the databases, and clear and early warning signals in case of corrupt or inconsistent databases. This enables the user to save data that will otherwise be lost due to destroyed database structures.

The latter is of greatest importance since the systems that are based on SQL Server – i.e. customer registers, invoice systems, accounting systems, systems for wages and salaries, supplier registers etc – are critical for virtually every middle-sized and large corporation, and where losing the data normally implies grave consequenses to the operations of the company.

Db Maint is an administrative tool for maintaining SQL Server installations which, despite its advanced and powerful functions, is easy to use.
