LAN Assistans & Konsulting AB announces that their flagship product Db
Maint, a maintenance program for SQL Server, will be distributed in the Nordic
region by computer giant Data Construction, according to a distribution
agreement signed by the two parties on Tuesday. Db Maint maintains and
preserves Microsoft SQL Server installations and its data.
Data
Construction will distribute Db Maint in the entire Nordic region through its
wide network of resellers. Data Construction is part of the Eiknes Group which
is one of the leading IT companies in Scandinavia with more than 200 employees
and yearly revenues of more than 50 MUSD. Data Construction is Sweden’s leading
distributor of products and solutions for networks and communication.
We
are convinced that Db Maint has a huge potential on the Nordic market. The
program is splendid for small and medium-sized companies with SQL Server
installations, but without their own SQL Server expertise. The added support
for MSDE is an added benefit, said Jonny Sidestal, Product Manager at Data
Construction AB.
Db
Maint is an administration program for maintenance of Microsoft’s database
management system SQL Server. The software contains several functions which
significantly facilitate administration and improve performance of MS SQL
Server 6.5 and 7.0, e.g. safer and easier backup, continuous reports on the
conditions of the databases, advanced logging and presentation, and analyses
and documentation of the SQL Server
installation, including databases.
The
new Db Maint 2.02 supports Microsofts database engine MSDE, which opens up new
markets for Db Maint in especially the OEM field since software developers can
now use the functionality in Db Maint to add e.g. backup and maintenance
routines to their MSDE based applications, and thereby save a considerable
amount of development time and costs.
Db
Maint is developed and distributed by LAN Assistans & Konsulting AB. The
software is primarily used by third-party developers and in medium-sized and
smaller installations without access to SQL Server expertise. Db Maint has
received excellent reviews and is featured in a 2-page Lab Report in the latest
issue of SQL Server Magazine (February), where Db Maint is described as ”easy-to-use, effective and inexpensive”.
