New
Version Of Db Maint Facilitates Performance Monitoring
LAN Assistans & Konsulting AB
today announced the release of Db Maint 3.0, a maintenance program for SQL
Server. New features in version 3.0 of Db Maint, which will be available from
October, include support for MS SQL Server 2000 and vastly improved performance
monitoring capabilities. Db Maint maintains, preserves and monitors Microsoft
SQL Server installations and its data.
Db Maint is an administration
program for maintenance of Microsoft’s database management system SQL Server.
The software contains several functions which significantly facilitate
administration and improve performance of MS SQL Server 6.5, 7.0 and 2000, e.g.
safer and easier backup, continuous reports on the conditions of the databases,
advanced logging and presentation, monitoring of performance counters, and
analyses and documentation of the SQL
Server installation, including databases.
The
new Db Maint 3.0 contains several new features, e.g. support for MS SQL Server
2000, major user interface enhancements, alert on performance counters, and
greatly improved and generalized performance monitoring of any NT server
(even non-SQL servers).
Db
Maint 3.0, which is available from October the 1st, also includes
enhanced support for Microsofts database engine MSDE, which opens up new markets
for Db Maint, especially in the OEM field. Software developers can now use the
functionality in Db Maint to add e.g. backup and maintenance routines to their
MSDE based applications, and thereby save a considerable amount of development
time and costs.
Db
Maint is developed LAN Assistans & Konsulting AB, and distributed by Data
Construction AB. The software is primarily used by third-party developers and in
small to medium-sized installations without access to in-house SQL Server
expertise. Db Maint has received excellent reviews and is described as ”easy-to-use,
effective and inexpensive” by the prestigious SQL
Server Magazine.
