What's new in 4.0 What's new in 3.0 Support for SQL Server version 7.0 Db Maint supports both SQL Server 6.5 and 7.0. Log to printer Db Maint supports logging to printer (in addition to the Db Maint log table, event log, HTML, E-mail, central server and SNMP). Quick Setup The Quick Setup feature reads a text file (dbmaint.inf), which contains a number of job and task definitions. This feature can ease setup of maintenance routines if several SQL Server installations will have the same task and job definitions. The text file can be modified to add your own jobs, tasks, backup devices etc. Better control over logging level You can now configure whether you want to log error, warning and/or information independently for all log destinations. Improved installation The installation program is greatly improved. There is also a separate program with which you create, delete and update the Db Maint system tables. Server report A task can be configured to generate a server report to a file. This report contains all neccessary information needed if a reinstallation of SQL Server is required. The report can also be valuable for troubleshooting purposes. Selective delete for the Db Maint log You can delete log entries of a certain error level, for a certain task or messages which are older than a number of days. This makes the reading of the log easier (filter support is still available). |
