Most recent backup (from backup history tables)

This table presents the most recent database and transaction log backup taken. The information is drawn from the backup history tables in the msdb database, so the backup set might have been overwritten or the backup file may not even exist.

Backup device information

This is what the backup devices (files or tapes) contain. By default, only the files are presented. To display tape(s) as well, press the “Include information for tape devices” button (reading the backup headers from tape can take a long time).

Export options

You can export this information to a file. Specify what information you want included and press the Export button.

Include information for tape devices

Contents on tape devices will not be shown unless you press this button. This is because it can take a while to read the backup header form the tape(s).
